Hello
Welcome to the lair of Thad Ravenhurst, caretaker of this haunted corner of the web. While he does not write the reviews himself, that honor belongs to his mysterious master, Ravenhurst, who works tirelessly in the shadows to keep things running. He uploads the reviews, adds the pictures and GIFs, and ensures that every shriek, gasp, and scare finds its way onto the site.

By candlelight and projector glow, Ravenhurst also tends the social media crypts, managing the Instagram and X accounts so fans never miss a new review. His work ensures that, whether you are here for classics, slashers, or strange and forgotten gems, the stories are continually unearthed and shared.

Think of Ravenhurst as the one who flings open the coffin lid each night, keeping the horrors alive and ready for you to enjoy. You can also find his erratic postings for Mr. Pat on Instagram and X, if you dare to follow.

My Story
I did not begin as the caretaker of this haunted site. In truth, I first entered the world of Mr. Pat as a reader around Year 5. At the time, I only knew him through a brother and a sister I was friends with, and I enjoyed following along with his growing tradition of reviewing horror films each October. By Year 9, Pat announced that Facebook Notes, the original home of his reviews, would be discontinued. I had been dabbling in website creation and, now a friend of Pat’s, I offered to build him a proper home for his collection of horrors. That offer became this site, and from there, I also created the affiliated social media accounts, redesigns, and uploads that have kept the tradition alive.

As for myself, my heart has always leaned toward science fiction, but my roots are tangled in horror. I grew up watching classic films such as Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon with my mother and aunt. As I grew older, the slasher era captivated me with films like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, and later, Event Horizon showed me where horror and science fiction intersect. Television sealed the deal. The Twilight Zone, Creepshow, Night Gallery, The Outer Limits, and later The X-Files and Fringe taught me that horror and science fiction are close cousins, both carrying the same power to unsettle, provoke, and haunt.

I have been serving in this role since Year 10, and though the miles and time zones between Pat and me once made coordination a challenge, we built a system that works. My role is mainly behind the scenes, ensuring that every review is uploaded, every GIF flickers where it should, and every post finds its way onto Instagram and X. Like Pat, I am also a writer, and in the years ahead, there may be a greater Ravenhurst presence as the 31 Days of Halloween continues to grow.

I hope that readers find something genuine here. This is an organic project, built by fans who love horror, not by paid professionals. Pat brings his keen eye and passion for the genre, and I get my craft for creating and building. Together, we keep this strange machine alive.

Now, if you will excuse me, I must return to the shadows. The master has reviews that must be fed to the world, and I have shelves of reels to prepare.
