Mr. Pat wrote his very first novel, Camping with the Dead. Here is the description of the book:
James is a photographer/videographer at a small market news station in the Midwest. With hopes of becoming a reporter, he pitches to his boss a new business/experience opening up nearby. People will camp for the weekend at a former nature preserve filled with “zombies.” The goal of the weekend is to see if the campers can survive a “zombie apocalypse.”
However, once James and his friends enter the campgrounds, they realize that they have stepped into a trap. What was supposed to be a fun-filled weekend with actors playing zombies quickly turns into a blood bath when the undead start to invade. Their fight for survival is constantly made harder by the question, “Is this a real zombie trying to kill me, or is this just an actor?” James and his friends are trying to uncover the mystery behind the camp and how the undead are able to walk among them. If zombies are real, then they have to warn everyone on the outside before it’s too late. However, they must first survive the weekend without getting killed or worse...turned.
